BLUE ZONE RUSTIC RETREATS
A deep dive into health, happiness and wellbeing
Many of my guests arrive on the island feeling burnt out and disconnected. They're in search of something to improve their lives, physically, spiritually and emotionally. When introduced to the healing potential of this special island they find many of those aspects deep within themselves – insights and inspiration that often moves them to make great changes in their lives when they get back home.

One of the most special aspects of being on the island is ‘community’ – how important it is for us as locals to be part of something greater than merely being an individual. Ikaria offers a space to drop into deeper connection – not only with yourself, but also with nature and the island, and of course with each other.
In my rustic retreats, over six days together, we explore the Ikarian philosophy of life and living – family values, happiness, the importance of food and wine, religion, and our attitudes towards ageing – not to mention the powerful impact that being so close to nature brings. Ikaria provides the perfect backdrop in which to make these personal discoveries.
Your island experience includes:
Accommodation
6 nights in the village of Nas that includes a locally grown breakfast, lunch and dinner for the entire retreat.

Accommodation for the retreat is at various locations in the village to give you a sense of the local community. All rooms give the feeling of having nature ‘right at your doorstep', with most rooms enjoying views of the sea. Nas is situated as the perfect base to explore the island and get immersed in the culture.

The gourmet breakfasts at Thea’s Inn include fresh eggs and goats cheese from our organic farm, locally baked bread, hot coffee, and yogurt with Ikarian honey, famous for its healing properties.
Moving in Nature's Way

Swimming, walking, hiking and foraging will become second nature during your stay on the island. Ikaria's unique mountainous terrain makes for spectacular trails with breathtaking views across the Aegean, while the beaches are some of the best the Aegean has to offer.
Cooking

Join us in the kitchen with our expert local cook, Athina who will show you how to create delicious plant-based Ikarian meals, using recipes you'll be able to take home.
After your class we all get together to enjoy our dinner on the terrace whilst taking in the spectacular Nas sunset.
Field to Table

You'll visit our organic farm where my husband Ilias will guide us on a hike to harvest food for our cooking class. We will also visit traditional beekeepers and have lunch at an Ikarian winery.
Thermal Springs

Ikaria was always a place of incredible healing, going back centuries. On the south side of the island are the Therma Hot Springs, where sulphur and other mineral elements naturally bubble up from the earth’s core. After a soak and swim you will leave with a sense of being rejuvenated and alive.

To reserve your place
My Blue Zones retreats are very intimate and I only take 10 guests at a time. This ensures that every guest receives close attention and gets the very best out of their Ikarian experience. The retreats tend to sell out quickly, so if you are interested in reserving your place, please contact me and I will send you detailed information.
